Welcome to the SPCC website

Set in the Blackmore Vale in beautiful North Dorset, we are a small social village cricket club which plays friendly Sunday games and we are an affiliated member of Dorset County Cricket

23 Sept 2018We were founded in 1983 and played our first fixture in 1984. In 2014, after a period of decline not uncommon to many cricket clubs, we completely re-invigorated the club with the injection of new people from in and around our village. It now has the feel of a brand new club, with new players, new committee, new logo, new website and the odd new set of pads!

We doubt the cricket will be any better (after all we don't want to change our logo) but that doesn't matter, as we're all keen and we enjoy nothing better than a sunny Sunday afternoon playing a competitive game of cricket (whatever the result) followed afterwards in the local pub with a natter and deep analysis of all the dropped catches.

We have one team that consists of young and old and we are looking forward to playing an increasing number of friendly fixtures, re-acquainting with past opponents as well as playing new teams and making new friends.

In 2021 we started running an ECB approved Dynamos cricket section for children aged between 7-11 where we hope to introduce their form of softball cricket as a fun introduction to the game we love, cricket.

Our fixtures run from April until September and we always welcome enquiries to play more matches or to join in any capacity.
